Kenneth Copeland’s daily devotional February 14, 2017 - Love Is the Power Charge

Image
Topic: Love Is the Power Charge [Tuesday February 14, 2017] This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. -   John 15:12-13 Love. It is the first and foremost command Jesus gave us, yet all too many believers neglect to follow it. I'm talking about believers who can quote tremendous amounts of scripture and who may speak the Name of Jesus 35 or 40 times a day, yet they're rough and insensitive to the needs of their friends and family. They're so busy "serving God," they don't have time to serve people. Strife is their hallmark. You may have been saved 45 years; you may talk in tongues all day long; but if you have strife in your heart and you're not living by the love commandment of Jesus, spiritual things are foolishness to you. When you're in that condition, the Name of Jesus won't work. Faith won't work because the Bible says that f

Our Daily Bread Devotional, February 14, 2017 - Love Revealed

Image
Topic: Love Revealed [Tuesday February 14, 2017] Read: 1 John 4:9–16, Bible in a Year: Leviticus 15–16; Matthew 27:1–26 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. -  1 John 4:9 When a series of pink “I love you” signs mysteriously appeared in the town of Welland, Ontario, local reporter Maryanne Firth decided to investigate. Her sleuthing turned up nothing. Weeks later, new signs appeared featuring the name of a local park along with a date and time. Accompanied by a crowd of curious townspeople, Firth went to the park at the appointed time. There, she met a man wearing a suit who had cleverly concealed his face. Imagine her surprise when he handed her a bouquet and proposed marriage! The mystery man was Ryan St. Denis—her boyfriend. She happily accepted. St. Denis’s expression of love toward his fiancée may seem a bit over-the-top, but God’s expression of love for us is nothing short of extravagant! “This is

DCLM Daily Manna February 14, 2017 by Pastor Kumuyi – Unprofitable Journey

Image
Topic: Unprofitable Journey [Tuesday February 14, 2017] Text: 2 Kings 16:10-16 Key Verse:  "And king Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, and saw an altar that was at Damascus: and king Ahaz sent to Urijah the priest the fashion of the altar, and the pattern of it, according to all the workmanship thereof"   (2 Kings 16:1) Ursula K. Le Gum, in her book entitled, ‘The Left Hand of Darkness’, told the story of a man who sought to bridge the gulf between his own views and those of the completely dissimilar culture that he encountered. She said: "It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end." The above aptly captures the essence of our text, which centres on Ahaz, the king of Judah, who went to Damascus, saw and copied. He ordered his chief priest to replicate what he saw in Jerusalem. He imported Syria’s religion to Jerusalem. He felt Syria’s gods were more powerful than God, since the Syrian a

Billy Graham’s daily devotional February 14, 2017 - The Mystery of His Love

Image
Topic: The Mystery of His Love [Tuesday February 14, 2017] I have loved thee with an everlasting love . . .  —   Jeremiah 31:3 No human experience can fully illustrate the imputed righteousness of God, as conceived by His infinite love. It is a mystery-incomprehensible and inexplicable. Like the mystery of the sun’s heat and light, we cannot measure it or explain it, and yet we could not live without it. Writing of the mystery of completed righteousness, Paul said, “We speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory. . . . But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him” (1 Corinthians 2:7, 9). What God has wrought in us is wonderful. But His work has just begun. He has a wonderful, exciting, thrilling future for all of His believing children. Prayer for the day:  My finite mind cannot grasp all there is in st

World News: Trump vows to bring planned border wall costs 'way down'

Image
President Donald Trump insisted early on Saturday that he would bring the price of his planned Mexican border wall "way down", after US media circulated a government report estimating it would cost $21.6 billion. In the internal government study, the US Department of Homeland Security said the contentious border barrier would take more than three years to build and the price could soar much higher than the $12-15 billion figure cited by Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan last month. "I am reading that the great border WALL will cost more than the government originally thought, but I have not gotten involved in the design or negotiations yet," Trump posted in a series of tweets. "When I do, just like with the F-35 FighterJet or the Air Force One Program, price will come WAY DOWN!" the president promised. Shortly after his inauguration, Trump ordered work to begin on building the wall along the 3 200km US-Mexico border - one of his signature campaign prom

News BUSTED: See as higher level students are using texts for Secondary school students (photos)

Just as things continue to go awry, i could affirm that the saying gfrom students that everything in Federal polytechnic Oko Anambra state is Possible is true. The Admin @ www.kabsedo.com have seen on several occassions and times that some things are just unbecoming about the institution that they even tend to male it look more like a secondary school with the kind of stuffs we see here which are more than less baffling to the students. Students are asked to buy textbooks which people never countered the motion but the action of telling students to buy textbooks which are designated for secondary school students is the idea that myself could never buy in any means humanly possible. It could be better defined as per say that the covers of the textbooks are removed and replaced with other covers which bwill bear the higher institution signal and it might have the same conten t as the secondary school text we might not quarrel that but this action seem to be very uncalled for and prohibi

Topic: The God of All Impossibilities [Monday 13, February 2017] Memorise:   For with God nothing shall be impossible. –  Luke 1:37 Read: Genesis 18:1-15 (KJV) 1 And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day; 2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground, 3 And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant: 4 Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree: 5 And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said. 6 And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth. 7 And Abraham ran u

Vital Secrets For A Successful Family (2) by Pastor Faith Oyedepo

Topic: Vital Secrets For A Successful Family (2) Dear Reader, It is a good day for you!  Last week, we saw the place of digging into the Word of God to establish our desires for our families. When the Word is discovered and applied with wisdom, treasures that makes for fulfilment in family life are uncovered. Today, I shall be looking at The Realities of the Covenant of Marriage. It is important for us to understand what marriage is all about. Many people, including Christians, have a misconception about marriage. Some think that it is just the coming together of a man and a woman to bear children. Some others think that it is a kind of friendship or relationship. Scripturally, marriage is a covenant and until you have this understanding, you may never enjoy fulfilment in your family. Marriage is a covenant between God and the couple, in the first instance, and then between the couple themselves. So, when you are entering into a marriage relationship, it is important for you to know
